The origins of the Gruppo Marino date back to the immediate post-war period, when the first generation of the Marino family started up in the business of producing hydraulic lime in a small work-place in Canicatti. The first jump in quality coincided with the arrival of the second generation at the end of the seventies: the marketing of a whole range of building products became the bedrock of the business. The field of operations extended to the adjoining provinces and thus was Mar Edil born. In the '90s Mar Edil began to concentrate its operations exclusively in the importing of cement and other binders from the main mediterranean and world producers.

Since its foundation, Mar Edil Spa had one major goal: to find and distribute to your customers high quality cement and hydraulic binders, as required by the European standards, in order to meet the demands of the strictest International standards, through the obtainment of both certifications UNI EN 197-1: 2011 and ISO 9001/2015. Concerning the Terminal and Distribution center, Mar Edil is strategically located in Sicily, at Licata Port and Canicattì, with its own storage equipments (silos), handling and packaging facilities for cement imported from EU and non-EU countries.
